If there is a conflict, we should try to resolve it. The conflict between smokers and non-smokers is a global one. It exists in many countries and even in many families. There are two opposing sides in this conflict, and both of them have arguments to defend their position.
On the one hand, smokers say that smoking helps them relax and feel less stressed. Some of them also think that it is their personal choice and nobody has the right to tell them what to do. In addition, they believe that they should be allowed to smoke in public places.
On the other hand, non-smokers are sure that smoking is harmful not only for smokers themselves, but also for the people around them. Passive smoking can cause serious health problems. That is why many non-smokers do not want to breathe cigarette smoke in cafes, at work or at home.
In my opinion, non-smokers are right. People should respect each other and try not to harm others. Smokers should smoke only in special places, and non-smokers should be protected from cigarette smoke. Only then can this conflict be reduced.
