Davy, the main character from the short story The Last Inch, was a boy of about ten or eleven. He looked younger than his age. He was slim and rather short, with fair hair and dark eyes.
In ordinary life Davy was a shy but kind boy. He was not very sociable and preferred being alone. He could be quiet and thoughtful, but at the same time he was strong and reliable.
In a dangerous situation Davy showed real courage. He was scared to death, but he did not panic or give up. He realised that his father could die, and he had the courage to take the plane off the ground, fly it and land it safely.
I think Davy is a brave and strong person. He can be relied on, and I admire him for his courage and responsibility.
