Everybody knows that ability to speak a foreign language is very important in today’s world. I personally believe that the most useful foreign language today is English.
First of all, English is the most widespread language on Earth. It is spoken by about 470 million people throughout the world, and it is the official language of about 45 nations. Besides, the United Nations uses English not only as one of its official languages but also as one of its two working languages.
Another reason is that English is very useful in everyday life. A lot of the world’s mail and telephone calls are in English. In addition, English is an easy language to study compared to many other languages, so it is a good choice for learners.
To sum up, I do believe learning English is very useful for me. I’ve been studying it for several years and I am going to continue to improve it.
