He says that his job is relatively well paid, but it is also very challenging and risky. When he is at work, he must be very much in control, because people’s lives depend on him. It is a great responsibility.

In my opinion, John likes his job. He sounds proud of it and says that he likes it, even though it is dangerous and difficult.
