Imagine that you are being interviewed by a journalist of a radio programme called “Meet yourself”. It’s a programme for teenagers about teenagers. The journalist asks different questions in order to find out what worries and what interests people of your age.
Student 1 (the journalist)
Introduce the guest of the studio to the listeners of the programme. Greet your guest. Announce the aim of the programme and ask questions to find out if the student has chosen his / her career and what he / she wants to be in ten years’ time. Find out how the student is going to realise his / her plan (to leave school and start a career, take some evening courses or special training; to stay at school and then enter university). Ask why he / she has chosen this way to realise his / her career ambitions. Find out what sports he / she does and what music he / she prefers. Find out what style of clothes he / she prefers, if he / she wears eccentric clothes and why. Thank the student for taking part in the programme and say goodbye.
Student 2 (the teenager who is being interviewed)
Greet the listeners and say that you feel nervous because it’s your first interview in the studio. Say what career you have chosen and speak about your ambitions. Speak about your career plans. Explain the advantages of your future job. Answer the questions. Say that you were glad to take part in the programme and say goodbye.
Student 1 (the journalist):
Good morning, dear listeners! Welcome to our programme “Meet Yourself”. Today we are talking to teenagers about their interests, plans and future careers. Our guest in the studio is a school student. Hello and welcome! Have you already chosen your career? What do you want to be in ten years’ time? How are you going to realise your plans: are you going to leave school and start a career, take some evening courses or special training, or stay at school and then enter university? Why have you chosen this way to realise your career ambitions? What sports do you do? What music do you prefer? What style of clothes do you prefer? Do you wear eccentric clothes? Why? Thank you for taking part in our programme. Goodbye!
Student 2 (the teenager):
Hello, everybody! I feel a little nervous because it’s my first interview in the studio. I have chosen the career of a doctor. In ten years’ time I want to be a good specialist and help people. I am going to stay at school and then enter university, because I need a good education for my future profession. I think this is the best way to realise my career ambitions. The main advantage of my future job is that it is useful and important for people. I do sport regularly: I play volleyball and go jogging. I prefer modern pop music. As for clothes, I like comfortable and neat things. No, I don’t wear eccentric clothes, because I prefer simple and practical style. I was glad to take part in the programme. Goodbye!
