Ниже даны некоторые фразы из писем Дианы и Фрэнка.
а) Прочитайте письма ещё раз и определите, куда следует добавить фразы, данные ниже. Отметьте места в письмах, куда они подходят лучше всего.
б) Проверьте свои ответы, прослушав два письма.
- Когда у людей проблема, первым делом надо с ними пообщаться.
- Расскажите им, что вам не нравится.
- Будьте честны при разговоре с ними.
- Никогда не используйте слова «никогда» и «всегда».
- Не говорите слов, которые могут задеть человека.
- Говорите спокойно.
- Если разговор не даёт решения проблемы, попросите кого-нибудь, кто постарше, помочь вам.
- Если они не поддерживают вас, возьмите себя в руки и терпите.
- Если вы не можете сделать это одним способом, попробуйте иначе.
- Это моё самое лучшее открытие.
Diana: When people have problems, the first thing to do is to talk. Tell them what makes you unhappy. Just be brave when you talk to them. Don’t use words like “never” and “always”. Don’t use words that hurt people. Speak calmly and listen carefully to what other people say. If communication doesn’t solve the problem, ask someone older than both of you for help: your parents, teachers or someone who knows the law. If they don’t support you, take matters into your own hands and be firm. If you can’t do it one way, try another. That’s how great discoveries are made.
Frank: To resolve a conflict, think about it first. Be calm, confident and relaxed. It is also important to have a sense of humour and to be optimistic. Don’t think that everybody is different. As soon as you find differences and start criticising them, you are in trouble. Differences can sometimes be a good thing: two people who think exactly alike cannot achieve much. They will not have different ideas or options. Discussing two opposite ideas can sometimes lead to a better solution. I think that if all the countries in the world really talked about their problems, they would find the answers. We must get along with one another.
