By the “global village” Jacques Delors means that all people in the world are closely connected and should learn to live together peacefully, just as people should cooperate in their own communities first. His idea is that if we cannot build harmony in our family, neighbourhood, city, or country, it will be even harder to live together in the whole world. We should take part in public life and make a contribution to it.
