1) Thanksgiving Day was started by the Pilgrims, because it is connected with the first harvest and the first Thanksgiving feast they had in America.

2) Thanksgiving Day is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November. It celebrates the first harvest and the Pilgrims’ thanksgiving to God for food and a new life in America. The holiday began in the 17th century, when the Pilgrims and Native Americans had a feast together. On this day people get together with their families, watch parades and football games, and say what they are thankful for. The special food is roast turkey, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce.
