- He is disappointed because Russian food seems too heavy and not varied enough for him.
- Yes, I partly agree. Some traditional Russian dishes are quite heavy, but Russian cuisine is actually very rich and tasty.
- I would politely explain what I like and ask for a different dish or try to eat at least a little of everything.

- She found it strange that her host mother kept looking after her all the time. It seemed too caring and unusual to her.
- She was surprised that her host brother asked for help so directly, because she did not expect such openness.
