1. Direct question — How much time would you like to spend in Australia?
2. Implied (предполагаемый) question — I’d like to go to the most interesting places and to see as much as possible.

• How does the second way differ from the first one?

One more example of a direct question: What places would you like to visit?

One more example of an implied question: I’d like to know what places you would like to visit.

Difference: the second way is more polite and indirect. It does not sound like a direct question.
