Book review
The last book that I read was called ‘Escape! The Story of the Great Houdini.’ It’s by an American author called Sid Fleischman. The reason why I got this book out of the school library was to do a project about escapology and magic.
‘Escape!’ is a biography about the famous escape artist and magician Harry Houdini which provides lots of fascinating information about his life. It discusses his success when he toured Europe and Russia and it also describes his brilliant career in the USA, where he lived most of his life. There are lots of great photos in the book too.
This book was useful for my project, but it was also very enjoyable. The author is a magician as well as a writer, and he really brought Houdini to life for me. I’d definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning more about the history of the ‘Great Houdini’.
