Bogatyrs is a famous painting by the Russian artist Victor Vasnetsov. It was painted in 1898 and is now in The Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.
The painting shows the main heroes of Russian epic poems, guarding the borders of Kievan Rus’. It is painted in oil on canvas. In the background, there is a wide plain and huge mountains. In the foreground, the three bogatyrs are shown on horseback. One of them is gazing into the distance, another is getting his sword out of the sheath, and the third is holding a bow and arrow.
I like this painting because it is very impressive and powerful. The heroes look brave and strong, and the landscape makes the picture even more dramatic.
