From the text, I have learnt that rock and pop music in Britain and the USA developed in different decades and had many famous stars and groups. Rock and roll began in America in the 1950s. In the 1960s The Beatles and The Rolling Stones became especially popular. In the 1970s and 1980s artists like Elton John, David Bowie, Rod Stewart and Queen appeared, and “Live Aid” became an important event. In the 1990s techno, dance music, boy bands and girl bands were very popular. In the 2000s singers like Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez became popular. Today new idols continue to appear.
