Group work. What are your classmates’ views on reading?
1) Yes, young people in the UK are generally positive about reading. Most of them think reading is enjoyable (65%) and relaxing (49%). They also say it is educational (42%) and informative (27%). Only 25% find reading boring, and just 8% think it is hard work.
The most popular genres are fantasy fiction (43%), adventure (42%), humour (40%) and horror/thriller books (38%).
