Task 1

I have been learning English for seven years. I started when I was in the second form.

I can speak about everyday topics quite well, read simple texts and understand the main idea of short stories and dialogues. I also think I write fairly well.

To improve my English, I read texts in English, learn new words, do grammar exercises and listen to songs and videos in English. Sometimes I also speak English with my classmates or practise at home.

Task 2

Student: What foreign languages do you study at school?

Friend: I study English and German.

Student: I think German is a good choice. It is useful and interesting.

Friend: How can I learn Russian effectively?

Student: You should read more in Russian, learn new words every day, listen carefully to native speakers and practise speaking as often as possible.

Friend: Why have you decided to study English?

Student: I have decided to study English because it is an international language. I want to travel, communicate with people from other countries and use English in my future job.
