I’d like to talk about my favourite author, J. K. Rowling.
She was born in 1965 in England. Before becoming famous, she worked as a teacher and wrote stories in her free time. Later, she became one of the most successful writers in the world.
J. K. Rowling is a fantasy writer. She is best known for creating magical worlds and interesting characters. Her books are exciting, imaginative and easy to read.
Her most popular works are the Harry Potter books. This series is loved by children and adults all over the world. It has been translated into many languages and made into films.
I like J. K. Rowling because her books are full of adventure, friendship and magic. They teach readers to be brave, kind and loyal. In my opinion, she is a brilliant writer, and her books are worth reading.
Task 2
Mike: Hi! What are you doing at the weekend?
You: Hi! I’m planning to go on a literary tour to Oxford, but I have nobody to go with. Would you like to come with me?
Mike: That sounds interesting. What writers do you like?
You: I like J. K. Rowling and Arthur Conan Doyle. Their books are really exciting and popular.
Mike: Have you been to any literary places in your country?
You: Yes, I have. I’ve visited museums and memorial houses connected with famous Russian writers, such as Pushkin and Tolstoy.
Mike: Great! When shall we meet?
You: Let’s meet at Paddington Station at 9 a.m.
