A. The Stone Age

The Stone Age is the period in history when people used stone tools and weapons. It is usually divided into the Paleolithic, the Mesolithic and the Neolithic. This period lasted for thousands of years. During the Stone Age people made simple tools from stone, bone and wood.

B. The Bronze Age

The Bronze Age began when people learned to make bronze, a new and stronger metal. During this period they invented new techniques and devices, such as better tools, weapons and pottery. People also started building large monuments, including the pyramids.

C. The Iron Age

The Iron Age began when people started using iron to make tools and weapons. Military power became very important in this period. The Greeks and Romans made great technological achievements, such as roads, aqueducts, bridges, machines and improved weapons.
