You feel bored. You don’t know what to do tonight. Your friend has a TV programme. Call him/her and ask what is best to watch tonight.

Find out:

• what channels show sports programmes and what events they show;
• if there are any good films on;
• if they show your favourite quiz tonight;
• what your friend advises you to watch.

Work in pairs.

Sample dialogue:

A: Hi! I’m bored and don’t know what to do tonight. What’s on TV?

B: Let me see. There are sports programmes on Channel 1 and Channel 5.

A: What sports events do they show?

B: Channel 1 shows a football match, and Channel 5 shows a tennis tournament.

A: Are there any good films on?

B: Yes, there is a good comedy on Channel 3.

A: Do they show my favourite quiz tonight?

B: Yes, your favourite quiz is on at 8 p.m. on Channel 2.

A: What do you advise me to watch?

B: I think you should watch the quiz or the comedy. They are both interesting.
