As I see it, leadership is not just about reaching organisational goals, but increasing personal development of the members of an organisation. In this sense, the very word ‘leader’ has acquired a new meaning. The old style of leadership, I mean the one based on the leaders taking control and making decisions, is outdated. The new leadership style focuses on the value of people and emphasises empowering them. Good leaders encourage personal growth and creativity in others. They make their followers believe that leaders are not born, but anyone within an organisation who has the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools can become a leader.
