Maslenitsa is an interesting cultural event in Russia. It is celebrated in late winter, before Lent. People make and eat pancakes, which are a symbol of the sun. During the festival, there are concerts, games, dances and traditional songs. Families and friends spend time together and enjoy the cheerful atmosphere. On the last day, people burn a straw figure to say goodbye to winter and welcome spring. Maslenitsa is a bright and joyful holiday that shows Russian traditions and culture.
