B There’s nothing to be anxious about. C Why, what’s the matter? D I didn’t know you were so superstitious! E But… what’s troubling you?
Amy: I can’t believe how unlucky I am! Tom: 1) Why, what’s the matter? Amy: Well, it’s my birthday on Friday, and I want to have a small garden party. Tom: Good idea! 2) But… what’s troubling you? Amy: There’s a full moon on Saturday! Tom: So? There’ll be a nice atmosphere. Amy: You don’t understand! A full moon means trouble. The whole party will go wrong! Tom: 3) You don’t really believe that, do you? Amy: Yes, ask anyone and they’ll tell you the same thing about the moon. Tom: 4) I didn’t know you were so superstitious! Let me guess… black cats and ladders are also a problem, right? Amy: It’s not funny! This is really worrying me. Tom: 5) There’s nothing to be anxious about. Everything will be alright.
