You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and speak for not more than 2 minutes. Задание в старом учебнике: Listen and read to make a list of things you should and shouldn’t do to protect yourself. Imagine you are a police officer giving a talk about self-defence to some students. Use your list to help you give your talk. To protect yourself, you should be aware of what is happening around you and trust your instincts. Walk confidently, stay in well-lit places and avoid empty streets, especially at night. Keep your phone charged and let someone know where you are going. If you feel unsafe, go to a shop, a café or any place with other people and ask for help.

You shouldn’t wear headphones in both ears when you are walking alone, because you need to hear what is going on around you. Don’t show expensive things like jewellery, a lot of cash or your phone. Don’t talk to strangers if they make you uncomfortable, and never get into a car with someone you don’t know. If someone tries to attack you, try to stay calm, shout for help and run away if you can.

Remember: the best self-defence is to avoid dangerous situations and be careful all the time.
