As the Minister of Transport, I would like to present our programme to reduce traffic in our town.
Our plan:
- improve public transport and make it more comfortable and reliable;
- build more cycle lanes and safe parking places for bicycles;
- encourage people to walk or cycle for short journeys;
- introduce park-and-ride areas on the outskirts of the town;
- limit car use in the town centre during busy hours;
- plant more trees and create pedestrian zones.
This programme will help reduce traffic jams, make the air cleaner and improve the quality of life in our town. We believe that if people use cars less and choose greener transport, our town will become safer and healthier for everyone.
