In my country, there is a special day to remember war veterans — Victory Day, which is celebrated on 9 May.
This day is very important because it marks the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II and helps us remember the soldiers who fought for peace and freedom. We honour veterans for their courage, sacrifice, and bravery.
On this day, people take part in different events. There are parades, concerts, and fireworks in many cities. Many people wear St George ribbons, lay flowers at war memorials, and visit veterans to thank them personally. Schools also hold special lessons and meetings with veterans.
Victory Day is a day of memory, respect, and gratitude. It reminds us how important peace is and teaches us to appreciate the people who defended our country.
